It’s the most wonderful time of the year and I’m loving every second of the holiday cheer going around! One of the things I look forward to the most, are the family holiday photos that I get to plan and photograph during the season. In the weeks leading up to Christmas, I help clients decide on portrait locations and to make decisions on what to wear for their session. The hustle and bustle of the holidays can be stressful, so I like to offer all the advice I can to make our session experience easy and fun! This year clients were treated to rustic family photos at Valley Forge Park in PA. I wanted to keep the winter set simple and mostly neutral so that families could wear what they felt most comfortable in; while still complimenting the colors in the scenery around them.
I closed out the winter season with rustic photos of our good friends, Marsha and Peyton. And they totally came to wow us with their family holiday photo style. Their portrait outfits were every bit of rustic chic, mixed with a little bit of outdoor country living. I adore Peyton’s navy, J. Crew blazer and gingham print button down dress shirt. His festive bow tie and cords really complete his outfit. But my favorite detail are his saddle shoes, how cute are those! And I love that Marsha took my advice and choose an outfit more monotone in color. You can see that for their family holiday portraits, she chose to wear a silk dress and velvet blazer in black. The textures add the right touch of chic and doesn’t compete with the prints in Peyton’s outfit. Have a look at the rustic family photos we captured! I truly enjoyed this session and I know that you will too!
