I love the simplicity of natural light in studio maternity session portraits. The glow of light, coming from the large window panes in the studio, just wraps around my couples. And it gives off the sweetest feel of romance and happiness for the photography session.
I was so excited to welcome my old friend into my space for a beautiful studio maternity session. I knew that the simplicity of the studio would naturally highlight her pregnancy. We haven’t had a chance to hang out since those late days binging on Starbuck lattes and falling asleep on nursing books in Barnes and Noble. So, I was so excited to follow along with her pregnancy journey on instagram. And could barely hold my excitement when we connected again to talk about the new baby she had on the way!
On my way in to the studio, I made a quick stop into Trader Joe’s for a few blooms to add a touch of romance for our studio maternity session. The best time to get the freshest flowers is right after opening; and I’m obsessed with adding fresh flowers to sessions. So now you know one of my happy places for florals:) I went with white ranunculuses and flowering tree branches for a simple wall installation.
The love between these two are so evident. I’m so excited to share all the photos from our shoot and celebrate this exciting time in my friend’s journey to motherhood. Just counting down the days that I get to go and visit their sweet little baby! One day we’ll be eating some left over dim sum that Belle has from a past date night, flipping through an album of these maternity photos, and showing her little one where all the love began!
