In November, just before the Thanksgiving holiday, I hosted a weekend of mini portrait sessions at the Appleford Estate in Villanova. And the day was splendidly mild for a late fall day of photos and adventure! It was so great to see my families from past years; while getting to know new families with warm introductions and laughs that lasted an entire session. In a season, where we take time to reflect on our happiest moments and give thanks, I am so honored to have been their family photographer this year!
After a few hugs and a few minutes of catching up, we canvased the grounds of Appleford Estate to find the best portrait spots for taking family holiday portraits. We started with the winding road leading into the estate and worked our way across to a rustic foot bridge for seated photo poses. My good creative buddy Marsha, of Marsha Flowers Events, styled several holiday sets for families to choose from for their outdoor portraits. My favorite was the frosted Christmas tree with a chalkboard sign and silver ornaments. Festive and bright, you can’t go wrong with that!
Check out a few highlights from some of my favorites from the day!
If you haven’t thought about Christmas cards, it’s never too late to book a session and order your holiday cards. You can use your photos to ring in the New Year too! Email me at ablake@annblakephotography.com or use the contact form on my website to chat about a session for your family.
