Say hello to my gorgeous friend Rachel in this beautiful Bohemian maternity session blog post. She’s a momma to a sweet and very smart toddler and has a new little one on the way. In celebration of her new addition, I was so excited to get her into the studio for maternity photos. I remember when we talked about this moment last summer. We were shooting a gorgeous wedding together at the Abington Art Center. I was second shooting for Rachel that day and we had just taken a break to rest our cameras, and share a vendor meal of steak and potatoes overlooking the reception. We started sharing our dreams and hopes for the future, and Rachel mentioned that she wanted to grow her family. That night I thought about her motherhood journey and said a prayer before drifting off to sleep. Now here we are on the brink of another summer and Rachel is PREGNANT!
The night before our session, I picked up two bundles of lemon leaves from Robertson’s Flowers in Bryn Mawr. The idea was to craft a garland for a floral themed maternity session. With a glass of wine and plenty of time, I trimmed the leaves and crafted a 10 foot lemon leaf garland. The next morning, I drove into the studio, made a stop for coffee and was inspired by the spring flowers along the way. So my next stop was to Trader Joe’s for a few blooms of roses. Rachel had mentioned that her hubby’s favorite color was purple. And as luck would have it, I found 16 lilac roses!
Our session was glorious and fun and everything I could hope for in a maternity session! Rachel thanks so much for sharing your love of country music and jamming with me in the studio! I’m soooo looking forward to meeting your beautiful baby. <3
