What to Expect From Shoot to Print

There are so many elements that go into planning for a professional portrait session. It can be so overwhelming thinking about what to wear, where to go and what to expect next from your photographer! So many decisions need to be made and I want to make that process easier for my couples and families. So, I thought it would be so amazing to start a new blog series for my lovely clients. In this new series, I’ll be sharing advice and tips on planning for the perfect photo session to ensure that the portraits we create are everything you envisioned before your shoot with me! I’m kicking things off with a timeline of what to expect from the time your book your session at Ann Blake Photography, down to when you receive your final print order:)

The Portrait Process

2 Weeks Before Your Session

After chatting on the phone or at our pre-session consultation to discuss any of your session plans, I’ll send you a portrait questionnaire to fill out all the details most important to you for capturing your best images yet!

2 Days Before Your Session

I’ll give you a quick check in e-mail to confirm all the details from our pre-session consultation.

The Day of Your Session

When you arrive at the scheduled session time, I will get to know you and your family. You’ll be able to relax and have a wonderful time during our photography session!

1 Week After Your Session

I will post your images for a sneak peek on my social media and website’s blog. This gives you a chance to preview the images before your portrait reveal!

2 Weeks After Your Session

You’ll send me photos of your wall, so we can prepare for your photo reveal. A quick snap with your cell phone will do!

2-3 Weeks After Your Session

We organize an in-person photo reveal and share a decadent dessert to pick out your favorite portraits for your portrait groupings; in terms of sizes, arrangements and style. We can also use this opportunity to view some of the gifts, albums, and any other unique keepsakes that I offer at Ann Blake Photography in person.

5-6 Weeks After Your Session

Your artwork and albums are ready for delivery! At this time I also send you a wonderful guide about photo care, which will ensure you a long life from your new, precious family heirlooms!

In my next post for this series, I’ll share how I flow through a family portrait session, so you’ll get a full view of my photographic style!
